Project Overview
Hill’s to Home is Colgate-Palmolive’s number one vet recommended B2B2C e commerce platform for wellness and prescription pet nutrition. The strategic UX/UI redesign unified vet and pet parent portals, modernized the design system to meet WCAG standards, and streamlined approvals and ordering across this high volume home delivery ecosystem.
Challenge / Solution
Solution
The solution was a user centered redesign of the linked vet and pet parent portals, guided by data from real workflows and support trends. The work focused on modernizing the shared design system in Figma, aligning the experience with WCAG accessibility standards, and simplifying key flows for approvals, refills, and repeat orders. This systematic effort led to a 35% drop in vet approval time per order, a 20% increase in orders coming from Hillspet.com into Hills to Home, a 40% reduction in portal related support calls, and faster releases supported by a more consistent UX.
PROCESS: UX STRATEGY ROADMAP
The UX Strategy Roadmap for Hills to Home follows five phases, from research and requirements through UX and UI design, evaluation and iteration, implementation, and product launch evaluation. Each step is grounded in user insights, business needs, and clear success metrics.
In every phase, product, design, and engineering partner with Colgate pet nutrition teams and clinic stakeholders to shape decisions. This shared process creates a clear path from discovery to build and supports ongoing improvements to the Hills to Home experience.
The redesign’s core philosophy was to evolve Hills to Home from a fragmented ordering utility into a unified, human centered prescription nutrition platform that connects clinic workflows with simple, accessible home delivery for pet parents.
User Interface Design
The culmination of extensive research, strategic thinking, and creative design resulted in a refreshed brand identity. The designs exceeded Blanc 4’s expectations, setting a new benchmark for tech branding.
The finalized Hills to Home interface brings the design system to life, turning structure and clarity into a cohesive experience that guides veterinarians and pet parents through prescribing, approving, and ordering nutrition. Redesigned as a smarter home delivery companion, the platform now offers reassurance, simplicity, and transparency, strengthening clinic trust and pet parent confidence in every order.
